Babuska Problem and Eshelby Conjecture in Linear Elasticity

I first survey results on gradient estimates for solutions and determination of inclusion to divergence form elliptic equations and systems with discontinuous principal coefficients. Then I will present some recent work with my colleagues on gradient estimates of solutions of Lame systems with partial infinity coefficients, and give optimal blow up rate of the gradient of solutions as the distance between the surfaces of discontinuity of the coefficients. Finally we concern the infinitely rigid inclusions in linear elasticity, and establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for “the inclusion is an ellipsoid in an infinite media” under any uniform applied loading, which are related to Eshelby conjecture.

保繼光，理學(xué)博士，教授，博士生導(dǎo)師。1981～1988年在北京師范大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系學(xué)習(xí)，獲學(xué)士和碩士學(xué)位。1988年至今在北京師范大學(xué)工作。1995～1998年在北京大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院學(xué)習(xí)，獲博士學(xué)位，導(dǎo)師為張恭慶院士。2000～2001年在加拿大University of British Columbia做博士后研究，合作導(dǎo)師為Nassif Ghoussoub院士。曾兩次任北京師范大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系黨總支部書記，兩次任北京師范大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)。現(xiàn)任教育部高等學(xué)校數(shù)學(xué)類專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)委員，教育部高中課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)修訂組成員，數(shù)學(xué)與復(fù)雜系統(tǒng)教育部重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室副主任，中國數(shù)學(xué)會(huì)常務(wù)理事和基礎(chǔ)教育工作委員會(huì)主任，中國少數(shù)民族數(shù)學(xué)教育專業(yè)委員會(huì)副理事長(zhǎng)，北京數(shù)學(xué)會(huì)監(jiān)事長(zhǎng)（黨建工作小組組長(zhǎng)），北京數(shù)學(xué)教育中心學(xué)術(shù)委員會(huì)委員，《數(shù)學(xué)通報(bào)》主編，《數(shù)學(xué)進(jìn)展》副主編，《數(shù)學(xué)的實(shí)踐與認(rèn)識(shí)》、《北京師范大學(xué)學(xué)報(bào)》和《Analysis in Theory and Applications》編委，中共北京師范大學(xué)黨委委員，基礎(chǔ)學(xué)科拔尖學(xué)生培養(yǎng)試驗(yàn)計(jì)劃專家委員會(huì)副主任、理科組組長(zhǎng)，謝宇教育基金會(huì)總裁等職，享受國務(wù)院政府特殊津貼。
